East Midlands International Trade Strategy
The East Midlands International Trade Strategy, developed by the Regional International Trade Forum, overall objective is 'to contribute towards improving productivity and competitiveness across the region through international trade development activity'.
Key objectives of the strategy are to:
- Increase the likelihood and capability of the region's smaller companies to trade internationally
- Develop the global trading activity of the region's 'middle market' businesses
- Improve the international trading performance of the region's key sectors

‘A flourishing region’ Regional Economic Strategy for the East Midlands 2006 – 2020 Published by emda
'A Flourishing Region’ for the East Midlands is the third Regional Economic Strategy.
It follows the publication of ‘Prosperity though People’ in 1999 and ‘Destination 2010’ in 2003, which set the ambition for the East Midlands to become a ‘Top 20’ region in Europe.
